It’s raining it’s pouring and food shopping!!

It’s raining it’s pouring and food shopping!! Well off to do my food shopping for Xmas. Something I think we all dread and still I don’t understand why people think they need so much extra food. The shops these days, don’t even close for very long at all. For the last few years, I have chosen to shop in my local indoor market and little local store, and we still have an amazing Christmas, food wise, and without all the crushing and hustle and bustle of the big super stores.
I always seem to go into a bit of a dream world when into the big supermarkets, I feel like I have been zombiefied and just trudging up and down the aisles, with food I don’t really need and leaving what seems like hours later, forgetting half the things I went in for!
So armed with my lists and shopping bags, I’m heading to the local market where I know I will get fruit and veg that will keep for weeks, sea food that hadn’t long come out the sea, and my little deli counter, where I can buy a small portion of olives, a little slice of pate, Parma ham sliced fresh and eggs that have not long been laid. I have very little waste, apart from a few peelings, and a very bare turkey carcass. But I know this is the way people Use to shop, but I think it’s one thing that shouldn’t have changed, plus I spend less money!!!! Not long now till the big guy comes to deliver presents. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas ūüéĄ.

BREATHE!!

AND BREATHE.For all of you Crafters out there, I should think that this is how many of you are feeling and all deserve a well earned break for a couple of weeks before the fun all starts again. Well that was my second fair done and dusted. A few more of my lovely products have found there way to new homes, one as a gift,so I hope they like it!!¬† Pig Street is a lovely craft fair with lots of unusual crafts¬†and I will definitely be making a few visits there next year with my handmade crafts. Laura and Sarah who run the fair are amazing people and extremely helpful and insightful people to any new comers. I’ve been operating now for a month, and I have met some amazing people already. Having being an animal lover, more than people, it has sort of restored my faith in humanity a bit. There are still good people in the world!! Now I can enjoy Christmas with my amazing little family. I can’t wait to see what Santa brings.

There will be a few Christmas cushions on sale, so please pop over to my site, http://timelessandelegant.co.uk and take a look. I will need new fabric next year.
In the New year I can’t wait to start working with my new fabric, a cerise pink velvet, it’s sooo soft! And I will also be finishing off my chaise lounge, thanks to Liz at The Traditional Upholstery Workshop¬†for all her help once again.
Hope you all have an amazing Christmas, if any one is reading this. Xxx

The Elves and the Shoemaker

If any of you have read the book, The Elves and the Shoemaker, that’s what I sometimes hope will happen to me. I cut things out the night before and get up the next day early to sew. I’m not much of a night owl, but I am definitely a lark. So this routine works for me. Maybe I will have a few Christmas elves come in and sew my things for me so they are all ready to sell the next day!!

So I will be tucked up in the basement surrounded by fabric for the next few days, more tree decs, bits and bobs bags, Christmas cushions and I have some new amazing, cerise pink, velvet fabric to make some new cushions with, which I have fallen in love with and may just be making myself a little cushion to keep!!

Chaise Lounge is finally taking shape.

Progress of Chaise LoungeWell the back of my chaise lounge is coming along. ¬†This is a selection of hair that you need to regulate to make into the required shape. Love traditional upholstery. If you take a look in my gallery, you can see what it will be attached to. Going to look amazing. Still can’t believe I created this. ¬†I have been looking Chaise Lounge to upholster for a ling time and ¬†when I came across this Ebay find, I knew it was meant for me. It will sit proudly in my bedroom when it is finished!
